Warrens Birthday

After a great weekend with Jus and Rob we checked into the 5 star Hotel Toren. It was a treat for Warren as he missed out on all the beautiful hotels in Egypt. We got a free upgrade to the premier bridal suite (awesome) and were blown away by its grandure. As we were relaxing in the two seater spa drinking Moet & Chandon we were thinking of Hayley and Barney somewhere in Central America on a 10 hour bus ride covered in spiders, snakes and bites!!

More anything? More everything!!!!!

Warren had a great birthday. he went shoping and bought designer shoes with his birthday money and talked to his family. Warren got heaps of presents - wine from Jus and Rob and almost an entire new wardrobe from me including a warm jacket, shirts, sweaters and a new wallet. He looked great in his new clothes even with the big egg on his head (he walked into a wall - long and funny story!) It was finally time to head home and go back to work. we have to save money for my birthday weekend - in Prague!!

Sat night in Amsterdam

We had big plans to party on sat night. We started in a cool tapas bar where we sat in the back turkish styled room. It had big lounges and cushins to sit on. After more wine then food we went next door to meet Joel and Maz. After another round we left them with the plan of eventually meeting at their hostel before going onto the clubs. Armed with a map we headed out across the city. We stopped along the way for top ups and caused a stir in one local pub. We eventually made it to the club - however only Amanda, Warren, Maz and Erica made it inside!! The club was cool but the music was abit lame - as to be expected from europeans!!! Amsterdam Photos

Amsterdam 13th - 17th OCT

Amsterdam is one of the most beautiful and friendly cities we have been to. The one exception is the first person we encounted at the train station who swore at Justine for not giving him her train ticket (but i'm getting ahead of myself!!) The canals are larger then in Venice and have either round or flat bridges over them that are lit at night. Dam square is at the centre of the city and is a large area surrounded by 16 centry palaces, churches and expensive hotels. The red light district was everything we expected it to be however the ladies in the red windows were actually quite hot!. We shared a room at the Crown Plaza with Jus and Rob while Joel, Maz and Erica where in a hostel. We had many dinners in cool local bars and cafes and found an awesome bar to hang out in. The friendly barmaid served us Absinthe (and quickly returned with water when she saw us struggling!!) Very strong booze - warren bought a bottle to bring home!! We spent our days exploring the city and our nights partying. We took some great photos along the way.

The next adventure

Just as the sky is turning grey and the rain is building up we are heading off onto our next adventure. It has been 4 months since our last holiday and I cant wait!!. We are heading to Amsterdam for 5 days and have many friends joining us. Rob and Jus are coming from Aberdeen while Joel (from Newcastle) Maz and friend (new Aussie friends from London) are flying from London. We have booked 5 * accomadation thanks to last minute. com so its flashpacking for us!! Its Warren's 23rd Bday on Monday 16th and as I missed the last one (flew to USA day before his bday last year) I will spend the entire day spoiling him.
