Over two weekends in August Warren and I attended two Shakespeare performances. The 1st was at Shakesphears' globe - the globe has been reconstructed exactly as it was in Shakespeares' day. OTHELLO was performed - a dark tale of jealousy and betrail. We had great seats in the 1st teir jst off centre. It was a wonderful atmosphere and a beautiful English summers night.
We also attended the Open Air Theater in Regents Park to see MACBETH. 5 of our friends came along and we had a lovely picnic with champagne and cucumber sandwiches before hand - very posh!. (In true form we were there 1 hour early yet still managed to be late to our seats!!!) It was a fantastic setting in the gardens with the trees, lights and night sky.
After our night of culture we went to have a drink in a local pub - and were hit with the seedy reality of drunken try hards having a push up competition on the dirty floor and a fight between a football fan and a clown!!!
"such a foul and fair night I have not seen" quote Macbeth
