A weekend in the country

One Saturday in January we set off in a hired car for a drive in the South West English country side. Our first stop was the pretty little village of Winchester. It had Tudor buildings an old market and most importantly lovely cafes! We past an Otter and Owl park and could not resist stopping. The otters were funny but everyone else was asleep!!! We made our way to the sea and almost go blown in!! There were crazy surfers in full body wetsuits trying to surf but it was completely flat!! As it got dark we found ourselves in the village of Dorchester. We found a nice B&B pub to stay in and enjoyed a stroll around town and a delicious Italian dinner.

The next morning we slowly made our way back to London stopping at Bournemouth to walk on the pier and play in an arcade. We past through the New Forrest where horses run free and graze next to the road and without warning cross it!!

We stopped in a picturesque town called Beaulieu. It literally had a post office, corner store and a pub!!! We had a relaxed lunch and drink before heading home. It was a lovely relaxing weekend through the beautiful English country side.

Christmas in Serre Chavalier (French Alps)

Serre Chevalier is a ski resort in the French Alps just near the boarder of Italy. Dan, Lisa, Warren and Amanda went for a week over Christmas to Snowboard. It was the first time for Warren and I and we took some pretty big falls - snow is not soft!!!! The village was very pretty with boutique shops bars and creperies, our hotel was right next to the ski lifts so we were up and ready to go each morning. After two days of falling over and a disastrous lesson with local boy Yann I decided to switch to ski's and set off at high speed down the mountain. Warren, Lisa and Dan hit the powder and on day three were off the piste zooming through the trees!!

We had a great time on the mountain each day and every evening we drank and relaxed in front of a beautiful open log fire in "our" hotel bar - a fabulous white Christmas

Night of our Engagement

On 15.12.07 Warren surprised me by asking me to marry him - I said YES!!

It was really romantic - Warren organised a private pod on the London Eye (big ferries wheel) with champagne and truffles - and popped the question on the way up!! We then took a taxi (no tube on this evening) to a posh west end restaurant, Sketch - where we were showered with complimentary champagne all evening. The final touch was a night at the Swissotel- a luxury hotel right on the Thames with a fantastic view of the London Eye, Big Ben, St Paul's and Tower Bridge!!
