Welcome to the website of Amanda Burgess and Warren Lane. On the 9th of April 2006 we are commencing a European Holiday. Amanda will visit Egypt and the Greek Islands initally with her parents and sister Elise. We will then meet up in the romantic city of Rome on the 28th of April. We plan to spend 3 weeks in Italy, 3 weeks in France before making our way to London to earn some pounds!!!
My 25th Birthday
After opening my presents, scarf watch and beautiful earrings designed by warren, we decided to take a day trip to Kutna Hora. It is famous for a church that a monk decorated with over 40 000 skeletons. After overcoming the language barrier (with pointing and smiling) we caught the train and arrived at our destination. The church had 4 giant pyramids of bones a chandelier and a family crest. There were strange gothic people inside and many Japanese tourists. Apart from the church there was nothing of interest in the town so we high tailed it out of there. After a delicious dinner at V Zatisi (best restaurant in Prague)(warren skimped on the tip as waiter was male) we went for a romantic stroll over the bridge and took some night photos. Fantastic end to a wonderful holiday.
Prague, old town square
The Old Town Square or Staromestske Namesti. Is a large cobble stone area surrounded by 10 centuary churches and buildings. Cafes and markets spill onto the square and the astronomical clock (3 clocks in one) chimes every hour. Very cute - a skeleton (death) chimes his bell and turns an hourglass and the 12 apostles parade past a window. We then walked to the top of Petrin Hill- a beautiful walk through autumn trees (crazy black squillels running everywhere) from the top we had an awesome view over the entire city. We went iceskating in the citys lagest icerink and watched small children beat each other up with hockey sticks. We found a very cool vego resturant and warren (again) over tipped the beautiful blonde waitress!! (Czech women are gorgeous)
